One of our most anticipated coffees of the year has returned!

Exceptionally moreish, it delivers a creamy, chocolate-rich mouthfeel layered with jammy berry sweetness and a subtle, warming hint of sherry on the finish.

Now in our sixth year working with Kilimbi, we’re proud to continue our partnership with Muraho Trading Co., who operate the washing station on the shores of Lake Kivu, which is still only accessible by boat.

The natural process involves keeping the entire coffee cherry intact to allow the fruit to impart flavour to the bean while its dries. Drying beds stretch across a large open plain, where airflow and sunlight have maximum exposure to the coffee as it dries. The cherry is dried for 30 days, turned constantly when the sun is high and covered during the night. Once the cherry has dried, the now dried outer fruit is removed, and the coffee beans are ready to be organised for packing.

The is the only coffee we order and here’s why

Delicious, scrumptious, creamy. Our sage coffee machine is now only happy with these beans and we wouldn’t change it for the world. We are constantly ordering more beans and are only ordering from Hard Lines. I couldn’t recommend more

Solid and smooth choice

Gave this a try as I wanted to try something different and support a small business. It’s actually great. Really nice smooth flavour. Enjoyed drinking this as my daily go-to, grind and press it in the morning and top myself up from a thermos at work. Solid choice.

Coffee FAQ's

What types of coffee do you offer?

We specialise in specialty coffee roasted fresh to order. Our selection includes single-origin coffees  from around the world and carefully crafted blends. Each coffee comes with detailed tasting notes  and origin information to help you choose the perfect cup.

How fresh is your coffee?

All our coffee is roasted to order and typically shipped within 1-3 working days of roasting. We  include the roast date on every bag so you know exactly how fresh your coffee is.

How should I store my coffee?

Store your coffee beans in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep them in the original  bag or an airtight container. For best flavour, consume within 3 months of the roast date. Avoid  storing coffee in the fridge or freezer.

What grind size should I choose?

  • Whole Bean: Best for maximum freshness (grind just before brewing)
  • Coarse: Pour over, French press - Cafetière, Cold Brew
  • Medium: AeroPress
  • Fine: Espresso, Moka pot

If you're unsure, we recommend whole bean and grinding at home.

How do subscriptions work?

Our coffee subscriptions are simple and flexible. Choose how often you’d like coffee — bi-weekly, or monthly — and we’ll roast, pack, and ship it fresh to your door. You’ll often receive coffees before they’re released publicly, and the selection updates on the 21st of each month to keep things varied and interesting.

You’re always in control. You can pause, skip, change your delivery frequency, update your details, or cancel at any time through your account or by email. Changes take effect right away if made before your next billing date — just give us at least 3 days’ notice if you need to adjust an upcoming delivery.

We have a range of different subscriptions to suit everyone. Check them out in Subscriptions
