Pour Over

What you'll need:
  • Coffee dripper & filters
  • 20g coffee (medium-coarse grind)
  • 300ml boiled water
  • Tablespoon
  • Scales
  • Timer
  • Mug 

 

Step 1

Set up your coffee dripper and rinse filter paper with hot water.


Step 2

Add 20g (2.5 heaped tablespoons) of ground coffee. Start your timer and pour 60ml of boiling water over the grounds in a circular motion.
We call this the bloom.


Step 3

After 30 seconds start to pour the remaining water in a circular motion.
Aim to finish pouring by 1:30-1:45.


Step 4

Your coffee will start to draw down, all water should have passed through the coffee by 3:00-3:30.


Step 5

Remove coffee dripper from mug, drink and enjoy!


Notes:

Make sure your coffee bed is flat before starting to our your water,
this will aid with extracting the coffee during brewing.
